Show the class the photos of Vitaliano and his family. Mind map a few ideas of who he is, his profession and his family life. Explain that he lives in Bolivia, next to the Andes where he grows quinoa and works at
a processing plant. Discuss the Anapqui co-operative and its activities.
Working in pairs the class skim-read the text for the gist and overall impression. Pupils then read it twice more and answer the questions.
