Ask half of the class to think of arguments for Fairtrade and the other half to think of arguments against Fairtrade. Feedback as a class and note them on the board. In pairs students then order the arguments.
Step by step instructions are included on the task sheet. This activity can be undertaken individually or in groups over 3-4 lessons.
Challenge students to work in pairs to come up with a way of explaining the concepts of 'environmentally friendly' and 'Fairtrade' to an alien, newly arrived from outer space…
